A sessions judge issued a notice on Thursday to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and sought a reply by July 7 on an application seeking registration of an FIR against Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and others for publishing ‘wrong map’ of the country by showing more two separate provinces in the Geography books of class 8th.
Rizwan Haider Advocate had filed an application in the sessions court under Section 22 A 22 B and submitted that on July 1, he approached CCPO through an application R&I 2281 to lodge an FIR against Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and other authorities of School Education Department for publishing a wrong map of the country on text books of class 8th.
He stated that the CCPO refused to entertain his application while crime the authorities had committed was of serious nature and equal to misguiding and spoiling the innocent minds of new generation. The map published in Geography books showed Saraikastan and Hazara as two separate provinces which was gross violation of the Constitution. After entertaining the application of the petitioner, additional district and sessions judge Hamid Hussain issued notice to CCPO and sought reply on July 7.

The petition was fixed before Justice Kareem and during the proceedings, the judge said it is an important matter and should be referred to the full bench. Few days back, this petition was fixed before Justice Ijazul Ahsan and he had referred it to the chief justice for fixing it before some other bench.
