SHO summoned over PTI’s application against govt

A local court on Tuesday directed the SHO of the Civil Lines police station to file his comments, on July 2, on an application seeking registration of a case against the Sindh government, especially the Chief Minister, Minister for Local Bodies and city administrator, over the deaths of more than 1,000 people during the heat wave.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) local leader Imran Ismail filed an application with the court of District and Sessions Judge (South) seeking registration of the case.
The plaintiff maintained that an application for registration of a case was moved in the Civil Lines police station but the police officials refused to file an FIR.
He asserted that the people died due to the criminal negligence of the provincial government as it did not take notice of the deaths and neither did it take any measures to mitigate the sufferings of the citizens.
