Roots International School organises global summer courses every academic year to provide international exposure and academic excellence to students under the umbrella of its ‘Global Reach’ department. The trips are organised by CEO Roots International Schools Walid Mushtaq in collaboration with the Berkshire Training Services, UK.
This year, a group of five students led by group leader Shagufta Adil was nominated to attend the Language and Leadership Course offered by the Berkshire Training Services, United Kingdom. BTS is at the cutting-edge of training around the globe, which provides a wealth of learning experience to its students according to the social constructive learning theory. Such communication & leadership skill courses give students an opportunity to improve their language and social, cultural skills, while enjoying days of unforgettable adventures activities, mixed with education and visits to some of the major tourist sites in England.
The course was organised from June 9 to 16, 2015. During these eight days the well-tailored and scheduled course led the Rootsians to a world of knowledge and enhanced their leadership and communication skills with hands on learning experience. One of Roots International Schools’ outstanding student ‘Fahad Shakeel’ was awarded with the title and shield of the star student of the course.
Students of the course and the group leader thoroughly learnt and enjoyed through the inside and outside classroom activities including the visit of all the UK attractions i.e. Oxford University, Big Ben, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, National Art Gallery, Parliament Houses, Windsor Castle, Birmingham Palace, National Museum of Natural History, Oxford Science Museum, River Thames etc.
The proud moment of the whole course was the award ceremony day, when the whole group was dressed up in Pakistan’s national dress and the audience gave homage to our national Anthem. This course provided the students exposure to the British culture and helped expand their horizons by interacting with the multi-cultural global participants of the summer camp.
RIS CEO Walid Mushtaq said, “We at Roots International Schools believe that global exposure and innovative learning is essentials in the 21st century for the personal grooming and academic growth of an individual and it’s an educational institute’s obligation to provide the students with such diversified platforms and opportunities.”
