A two-day training workshop for young volunteers under the aegis of BRIC Pakistan concluded on Wednesday.
The objective of the workshop was to create informed opinion among public about the local government system, its necessity and importance. Besides, it aims to create awareness of implementation of the local government system and ensure local bodies elections at the earliest.
Project’s District Coordinator Abid Abdaal said it was the responsibility of every citizen because the local government system ensured solution to the local problems of the people.
They imparts training to the volunteers regarding the method of local bodies election, right to vote, structure of local government and addressing the local problems of the people. The participants were informed about their responsibilities.
Later, BRIC Pakistan Executive Director Liaqaut Javed and Assistant Coordinator Sakha Ullah Nemat Khan distributed certificates as well as literature on the local government system among participants.
