ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has taken serious notice of a fatal accident in the service territory of Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) which occurred on Sunday. The power regulator has directed Mepco to immediately provide a detailed report in this regard.
According to media reports, a family including a couple and their two children were killed after a high voltage electricity wire fell upon them while riding a bull-cart on Sunday 12th May, 2019.
The Authority has shown concern on poor maintenance of network and safety measures being taken by Mepco especially with respect to fragile 11kV feeders and directed Mepco to submit a detailed report of accident in the manner prescribed under the Performance Standards along with causes and reasons of such accidents immediately by return fax within three days.
