LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said the sole purpose of signing IMF agreement is to bring the country out of the economic crisis and to assure basic facilities to the people.

He also added that the 26th Amendment was an achievement of PTI government which had proven itself as a true representative of the people. Talking to reports at an Iftar reception at Governor’s House on Tuesday, the governor said that the integrity of prime minister could not be challenged not even by his opponents.

“It is our primary mission to cleanse Pakistan from corruption and we will definitely strengthen parliament and all other institutions,” he said. The whole nation is convinced that Pakistan is heading in the right direction and 13 IMF programmes had been signed up-till now.

Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that PM Imran khan would fulfill his promise of creating a new province of South Punjab.

“I have always been in favour dividing Punjab into one or more administrative units to better the quality of administration and devolve power for administrative ease which is also the true spirit of democracy and I firmly believe in it,” Sarwar said.

Opposition should support this demand instead of playing politics over it,” he said. Answering to a question, the Punjab governor said the debt burden of previous government which was hundreds of billions dollars had to be paid by the incumbent government which showed their flawed economic policies. The government went to IMF to steer the country out of economic crisis.
