Minister inspects Ramazan bazaars

LAHORE: Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal visited Ramazan Bazaars in Shadbagh and China Scheme areas.

The minister visited stalls and checked the prices, quality and availability of essential items. He checked the stalls of flour and sugar. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said under the direction of the chief minister, the whole machinery of the Punjab government was in field for the protection of the rights of consumers, adding Ramazan Bazaars and open markets were being monitored. He said in fact Ramazan Bazaars are Sasta Bazaars which are set up for the provision of relief to the poor.

PFA: Around 1,838 food stalls in 94 Ramazan bazaars were inspected by the food safety teams of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) as it continued its food inspection drive over the directions of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. Director General, PFA, Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said food safety teams visited 43 makeshift markets in Lahore Zone, 29 in Rawalpindi, 17 in Multan and five in Muzaffargarh Zone, on Monday.
