KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) accelerated its investigation regarding the corruption, kickbacks, illegal misuse of powers, illegal appointments and illegal role of unauthorised persons in various departments of Sindh government, The News learnt.
Sources of NAB told The News that NAB had focused its attention in the matters of Sindh government’s health, education, local government, finance, energy and coal, information, works and services and irrigation departments in the light of various complaints.
These sources further added that some inquiries of officials of these departments were in primary stage and in the process of verification but the NAB had found sufficient evidence for
further action in majority of the complaints and in this regard in coming days many arrests of officials of these departments could made.
Sources informed that NAB had obtained satisfactory facts regarding the billions of rupees corruption in aforementioned departments about corruption in funds, kickbacks, commissions, illegal awards of contracts and ghost employees.
The NAB is inquiring the role of an unauthorised person in Sindh Irrigation Department and award of billion of rupees cont-racts on the orders of said person.
The National Accountability Bureau is inquiring about the kickbacks and commissions in the finance, health, local government departments, energy and coal in award of contracts and approval of financial allocations.
