CHAKDARRA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial head Amir Muqam on Saturday said the country was on the verge of going bankrupt due to the flawed policies of the government.

Talking to reporters here, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan had turned a blind eye to the corruption in the execution of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project in Peshawar. He said Imran Khan always cursed others for being involved in corruption, but he did not have the moral courage to order probe into the BRT project which ruined Peshawar and inflicted heavy losses on traders.

The PML-N leader said Imran Khan should reveal the names of those who wanted NRO instead of defaming the opposition. He said Imran Khan was a master of U-turns as he was now talking about announcing amnesty schemes for tax evaders, a move he had bitterly criticised in the past.

Amir Muqam likened Imran Khan to the driver of the BRT bus that recently crushed a woman to death, saying the prime minister was also running the country on a trial basis.

“Running the country is not playing cricket,” he taunted the cricketer-turned politician who often uses cricket terminology to take a swipe at his political opponents.
