Corporate social responsibility awards at SKMCH&RC

LAHORE: To recognise the support of corporate organisations during the year 2018, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) organised its 9th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) awards distribution ceremony at a local hotel in Lahore.

A large number of distinguished personalities and representatives from the corporate world attended the event. Senior journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami was the chief guest at the occasion. Talking to donors and supporters of the hospital, Dr Faisal Sultan, CEO SKMCH&RC said, “Shaukat Khanum Hospital is the only charitable institute which has gained trust of more and more philanthropists, individual and corporate organisations with every passing year for the last 25 years.” He informed the gathering about the latest developments at SKMCH&RC Lahore which include installation of 3 Tesla MRI machine, 3D digital mammography machine and a CT-Scanner. SKMCH&RC, Peshawar has also completed its three years of public and completed phase-II of its development, with the introduction of radiation treatment facilities.

Talking about the current and future plans of the hospital, Dr Faisal said that “Construction of Pakistan’s third and largest Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Karachi has also started. It is expected that construction will be completed over a three-year time frame at a total cost of Rs9 billion.” He presented the 2018 statistical fact sheet of the hospital. In the end, Dr Faisal Sultan, CEO, SKMCH&RC, Dr Muhammad Aasim Yusuf, CMO SKMCH&RC and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami distributed the Shaukat Khanum Social Responsibility Awards among the hospital’s supporters.
