LAHORE : Lodging protest against the atrocities of Rawalpindi Police against innocent citizens, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Ejaz Khan Jaazi on Friday boycotted the event in which Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was the chief guest.

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar left for Rawalpindi by train from Lahore Railway Station Friday and despite being in Lahore, the PTI MPA Ejaz Khan Jaazi didn’t accompany him. The CM was accompanied by two other noted politicians from Rawalpindi, including Law Minister Basharat Raja and Federal Minister for Railways. Ejaz Khan Jaazi, who was in Lahore, was also extended invitation by his party leaders to accompany the CM in the train journey. However, the PTI MPA didn’t accept the invitation. Later, when the CM reached Rawalpindi as the chief guest at two different ceremonies of Government Postgraduate College for Women and Government Postgraduate College, Satellite Town, the PTI MPA also didn’t turn up to the events to welcome the CM in his city.

This is noteworthy that Ejaz Khan Jaazi is openly bashing the police hierarchy of his district which also became evident in a leaked video in which he was seen talking to the people of his constituency.

In the leaked video, the PTI MPA slammed police high command of Rawalpindi for promoting corruption in the department and targeting the innocent people who mustered up the courage to raise voice against the atrocities of police.

The PTI MPA, who has been elected on the PTI ticket for second consecutive term from Rawalpindi, is likely to move an adjournment motion over the corruption of police in District Rawalpindi. This is interesting to note that Law Minister Raja Basharat himself belongs to the same city and in Punjab Assembly it has been his duty to answer queries related to Punjab Police.

Talking to The News, Ejaz Khan Jaazi stated that he had boycotted the event of CM Punjab during his visit to Rawalpindi to convey the message of people of District Rawalpindi who were in trouble in the hand of police. He said that police hierarchy in Rawalpindi was appointing SHOs and other cops at police stations while charging bribe from them. He said that when any of the citizens tried to lode a complaint against the police wrongdoings they faced victimisation. He said he himself had taken up the issue before the party leadership but still there had been no change in the behaviour of police.

This is noteworthy that Law Minister Raja Basharat while talking to The News a couple of days ago on the complaints lodged by Ejaz Khan Jaazi had stated that the just issues taken up by him should be addressed. However, he had stated that some of his complaints regarding police were ‘exaggerated.’
