KARACHI: Owing to delaying operating procedure of Sindh police, some 233 candidates of Police Inspectors who passed Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) examination on merit deprived of their jobs from last over five months.
Hiring of professional law graduates as Police Inspectors (Investigation and Prosecution) of grade 16 through Sindh Public Service Commission was first time announced in the history of Sindh in 2016; examination was held in mid of 2018 and the result was announced on October 22, 2018.
All the successful candidates received offer letters in February this year by Sindh Inspector General (IGP) but then, despite of completing all verifications of their credentials and police verification process, they could not be recruited due to alleged mismanagement and delaying mechanism of Sindh police department.
On the other hand candidates who passed other examinations of Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) after the said candidates of Police Inspectors like Assistant Commissioners (ACs), Section Officer (SOs), Excise and Taxation Officers (ETOs), Mukhtiarkars, Food Inspectors and others have received appointment orders and posted at their positions and are performing their duties.
Spokesman for Sindh Police told ‘The News’ that almost all procedures have been completed on the special directions of IGP Kaleem Imam and it will take one or two weeks and said candidates will get their appointment orders.
Spokesman added that Sindh Police Department is eager to have literate law graduates in its ranks so there is no question of deliberate delay in their hiring. “However there are some departmental and technical issues, therefore, this procedure took lot of time,” concluded spokesman for Sindh Police.
