MANSEHRA: The girl students of the primary school in Torghar district on Thursday staged a protest to demand to upgrade their school to middle and higher secondary level.

“I am a student of grade-5 in the Government Primary School Judbah. I will quit my studies this year as there is no middle and high school for girls in entire Judbah Tehsil,” Hina told the rally taken out in connection with the enrolment drive in Torghar.

The rally, which was brought out from the offices of the Education Department, culminated at the central bazaar after marching through various roads.

The students, who were holding placards, also assembled outside the Education Department office after the rally and raised slogans in support of their demands.

“There are 63 primary, three middle and a high school for girls in the entire district but the shortage of teachers has marred our education,” said Hina.
