Zardari, Bilawal seek time till April 17 to submit replies

ISLAMABAD: Former president Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have sought time till April 17 from the Combined Investigations Team (CIT) of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Rawalpindi for submission of their replies to the questionnaire with regard to fake bank accounts scam.
According to sources in the NAB, the request from the legal team of former President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto for the submission of their replies to the questionnaire by April 17 which was handed over to them by the CIT of the NAB Rawalpindi probing fake banks accounts and money laundering scam.
Sources said CIT of the NAB Rawalpindi examining the request made decision to give a time and summon them if they fail to submit the reply.
When contacted Senator Farooq H Naek legal adviser of Asif Ali Zardari, he said replies would be submitted to the CIT within next two to three days. “We are finalising replies which would be submitted to the NAB within two to three days,” he said.
The CIT of the NAB Rawalpindi headed by Director General NAB Irfan Mangi handed over questionnaire to Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on March 20 when they appeared before the CIT with regard to fake bank account scam and asked them to reply within 10-days.
The CIT interrogated father and son separately with regard to three cases and after interrogations handed over them separate questionnaires containing 54 questions each asking them to furnish replies to questions in 10 days.
