LAHORE:The campaign against theft of natural gas by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) has been intensified, especially in Khyber Pakhtonkhaw province.
According to a spokesperson of SNGPL, the company intends to carry out operation of removal/ disconnection of illegal taps on Kharappa-Manjowal pipelines at different locations between Zanaka & Kurram valve assemblies in Districts Karak & Bannu, from March 04 to April 08. In this regard, the gas supply to Lucky Cement will be shutdown.
The gas supply to the following areas between Zanaka & Kurram valve assemblies will be suspended upon depletion of pack. Zanaka, Tarkhakoi, Nari Panoos, Karak, Chokara, Jahangiri, and Landi Jalandhar.
Any delay in operation due to any unforeseen event may also result in depletion of pack and subsequent suspension of supply of gas to SMSs Saray Naurang, Bannu, Lakki City, Lucky Cement, Tank, D I Khan and Bhakkar at downstream of Kurram valve assemblies. After repair activity, the restoration of gas supply to the affected areas will be carried out accordingly.
