ISLAMABAD: The Dream Home Expo, the country’s largest real estate exhibition, has returned to the federal capital to cater for the people looking out for options to own house or invest money.
Held for the fifth consecutive year under the auspices of Jang Media Group and featuring more than 100 real estate developers, builders and dealers, the three-day event was inaugurated by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry at the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre on Friday.
The minister said the initial work on the ‘Apna Ghar Scheme’ had been completed, while the initiative would be launched soon promising the people their own shelter and economy a boost. He said the national economy would witness a positive change in the next six months. The minister later visited stalls and appreciated the Jang Media Group for helping the government revive economy. The organisers said around 50 real estate dealers, builders, developers, and marketing companies had participated in the expo and that they expected a good response from visitors.
They said the event offered the visitors vast information regarding real estate, housing, construction and investment under one roof and therefore, home buyers and investors should benefit from it. The organisers said ambassadors and experts from more than eight countries would participate in the International Investment Conference, which was also part of the expo. Talking to 'The News', the stallholders highlighted the real estate investment opportunities, their issues, and ways to address them. Promising high-quality yet affordable housing, they believed that the event would help them market their initiatives. Aqeel Riaz, the managing director of RPS Real Estate and Builders, appreciated the Jang Media Group for holding the expo, saying it will benefit both the housing sector and common man.
He said loan, land and tax problems were hampering the real estate sector’s growth and therefore, the government should take corrective measures without delay. He said his firm had been in the real estate business since 2014, had executed Royal Orchards housing project in Multan, Sargodha, and Sahiwal, and was undertaking the Capital Smart City project near the New Islamabad Airport.
“The Capital Smart City will be an iconic housing project of Islamabad. It’ll be the country’s first smart city offering a modern transport system, theme parks, playgrounds, health zone, colleges and universities, and all other latest facilities. We promise the people an ideal housing,” he said.
Chaudhry Abdul Rauf of the Fair Deal Marketing informed about his Mayfair Villas project in Park View City, Islamabad.
“Our villas will be unique. Not only has the project’s NOC been approved by the Capital Development Authority but its maps will also be submitted to the civic agency for approval. The villas will have an ideal location, a good water source for being located close to Simli and Rawal dams, wide roads and vast green cover,” he said.
He said the private sector would help the government meet the country’s housing needs. The visitors, who belonged to different walks of life, welcomed the holding of the event and said they consulted stallholders on property buying, building and décor, and got really valuable information and guidance. They said they would ask family members and friends to make it to the event in the next two days to explore housing and investment options.
