Army school attack: Commission seeks appearance of 8 army officers
PESHAWAR: The judicial commission probing the 2014 Army Public School carnage sent a reminder to Ministry of Defence on Sunday to ensure appearance of eight army officers for recording their statements regarding the terrorist attack that had martyred 147 people, including 132 schoolchildren. The inquiry commission consisting of Peshawar High Court Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan has sent letter to the defence ministry seeking the appearance of the eight army officers. Imranullah, focal person for the commission, said that earlier the ministry had requested time for appearance of the serving military officers before the commission due to tension between Pakistan and India.
He said the focal person for the serving military officers had stated that they would record their statements when the situation became normal between the two countries.
“Now the situation has improved and the commission has sent a reminder to the defence ministry to give the schedule for appearance of the military officers before the commission,” Imranullah added.
