PESHAWAR: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced to launch ‘Dawat-e-Quran’ campaign during the current month to promote the teachings of Islam and attract the people towards the religion.
This was announced by district president of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Atiqur Rahman, at a press conference here on Thursday.
Kifayat Ahmad, district general secretary of the party, and provincial president of JI youth Siddiqur Rahman Paracha were also present on the occasion. Atiqur Rahman said that it was a matter of serious concern that the people have ignored the teachings of the great religion due to which the society was confronting serious problems.
He said that door-to-door campaign would be launched and religious awareness raised among the masses. Banners, placards inscribed with the Holy Quranic verses and sayings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) would be affixed in every locality of the district. He added that the Holy Quran classes would be arranged at every union council level to enable the people to learn the Holy Quran.
The JI leader said gathering would be arranged at the Jinnah Park on April 28, which would be addressed by known religious scholars from across the country.
