GUJRANWALA: Anti-Terrorism Court No-1 Judge Imtiaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Tuesday issued death warrants for a murder convict.
The convict, Ashraf, will be hanged in the Central Jail on June 16. The convict had killed a minor girl, Kaneez, after raping her on November 3, 1999. The then ATC judge Khawaja Javed had awarded him death sentence on April 14, 2000. The Lahore High Court had rejected his appeal on December 15, 2001, and the Supreme Court on December 29, 2007. The president rejected his mercy petition on May 27, 2015.
