FAISALABAD: Self-assessment is an effective tool to explore weaknesses and strengths of a personality that could help the individuals and organisations to chalk out a sustainable plan in respective domains, said UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
Addressing a seminar on self-assessment report and R-software organised by the UAF Quality Enhancement Cell here on Tuesday, he said that the students were the best judge for evaluating the teachers’ ability of communication and knowledge sharing. He said that the students needed to express and indicate the qualities and limitations of a teacher during filling evaluation forms. He said that the university management had an agenda of holding refresher courses for the faculty, aiming at enhancing their knowledge and sharing skills. He said that the university was making efforts to equip the teachers with modern teaching gadgets and skills from inland and abroad. He said there were plenty of scholarship opportunities available for the faculty as the CM had given a formal nod to send 300 PhD scholars to the technologically advanced countries for obtaining PhD degrees in the most relevant subjects for ensuring food security in the country during the next five years. He lauded the QEC for organising the awareness sessions for faculty and students. He said that owing to commendable contributions made by the QEC, tremendous progress could be seen in the ranking of the varsity conducted by various agencies.
