Islamabad : Everyone has a sense of how to be happy or contented in their lives, which eventually helps them maintain balance in their psychological and emotional health.
At times, due to busy life schedules and pressures of daily living, we may restrain ourselves from happiness. Being cognisant of the importance of emotional wellbeing, NUST Centre for Counselling & Career Advisory (C3A) organises counselling camps twice a year to promote the concept and strategies of psychological health among the university populace. In the same context, a counselling camp was organised at NUST main campus here on Tuesday.
Key objectives of the daylong camp were to raise awareness about mental and emotional health; and gain insights into individuals’ strengths and weaknesses, and, in so doing, equip them with strategies to cope with challenges of life. The camp was inclusive of different activities, such as on-spot counselling, career counselling, testing & assessment, signature analysis and self-hypnosis. An overwhelming number of students, faculty and staff members registered themselves for different activities.
Students specifically showed keen interest in testing & assessment, on-spot counselling and signature analysis. C3A is a unit of NUST that provides primary mental health services for NUST fraternity. The core objective of the centre is to provide professional counselling services for educational, social, emotional or psychological issues that may inhibit personal or professional performance and advancement.
