Khassadars, Levies refuse to escort vaccinators in Bajaur

KHAR: The members of the Khassadar force and the Levies personnel here on Tuesday refused to perform duty during the anti-polio campaign in Bajaur.
The authorities in Bajaur postponed the anti-polio drive in the district after the Khassadars and Levies men refused to escort the polio vaccinators. District Health Officer Dr Wazir Khan Safi said that the anti-polio campaign could not begin in Bajaur after the Khassadars and Levies personnel refused to escort the polio workers. He said that the Khassadars and the Levies men demanded the government to merge their services in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
