The District Central Police by using modern technology managed to arrest a security guard of a bank who was involved in criminal cases.
The police said that the security guard, Orangzaib, employed at a private bank in the limits of the Yusuf Plaza police station, had a previous criminal record. He was said to be involved in a case under Section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance for possessing illegal weapons. Police said the guard was being interrogated and complaints against a private security company and the private bank would be moved to the authorities concerned for deploying a criminal record holder person as a security guard. They said that keeping in view the recent incident of a burglary in a bank by a private security guard in the city, they had started checking the records of security guards of different banks with the Sindh Police’s CRI software and biometric device.
Rangers make arrests
The paramilitary force arrested seven suspects during raids in the metropolis. According to a spokesman for the Sindh Rangers, soldiers arrested Rustam and Rahim Bux in the Sohrab Goth area. They were said to be involved in cases of kidnappings for ransom and possession of illegal weapons.
During raids in the Kalri of Lyari, Sharifabad and Sohrab Goth, five suspects were apprehended for their involvement in a number of bank fraud cases, robberies and street crime. They were later identified as Sanaullah, Abdul Basit Khan, Waqar Ali, Jehanzeb and Muhammad Nazakat.
Weapons were seized and looted valuables were recovered from the suspects. They were later handed over to police for further legal action.
