The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and others on former information minister Sharjeel Memon’s petition seeking bail in the Rs5.78 billion corruption reference.
Memon’s counsel sought his bail on medical grounds and over the trial’s delay. He said his client has been incarcerated since October 2017 and only three of the 50 prosecution witnesses have been examined by the trial court.
After the preliminary hearing of the petition, the SHC’s division bench headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh issued notices to NAB and others, telling them to file their comments on April 9.
