Gunmen shoot dead 8th grade girl student

BATKHELA: Gunmen shot dead a girl student in Dargai tehsil of Malakand Agency on Monday, sources said.
The sources said that Laiba, a student of grade 8th, was on her way home from the Government Girls High School in Haryanikot village when gunmen opened fire on her, leaving her critically injured. She was shifted to the Civil Hospital in Dargai where she succumbed to her injuries.
The accused escaped after committing the crime. The personnel of the security forces and Malakand Levies reached the spot and launched a search operation. However, no arrest could be made.
The Malakand Levies registered the case on the report of the deceased’s father, Daud Khan, against the accused, including Mohsin Khan, Israrul Haq, Muhammad Gul and Nizamul Haq. He added that the accused had sent a marriage proposal for her but she was too young to be married off.
