Formation of body to solve Dassu dam-related issues hailed
MANSEHRA: The elders belonging to Upper Kohistan on Friday welcomed constitution of a committee by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to address issues related to Dassu dam.
"The constitution of the committee is a step in the right direction as people want completion of this mega power project as early as possible," former MNA Saifur Rehman and other elders told reporters here.
He said that people whose land was acquired for the 4,300 megawatts Dassu Hydropower Project wanted the committee to ensure payments and resumption of work on the project.
"We would extend our support to this high-level committee for an early resumption of work on the dam and payments to landowners," said Saifur Rehman. "All tribes are united and want the government to resume work on this vital project," he added.
