GUJRANWALA: Six people, including five children, were killed and 14 others injured when the building of a private school collapsed on Kashmir Road.
A ceremony was under way in connection with Yaum-e-Pakistan at KT Model School when suddenly school terrace and a wall collapsed. As a result, five children including Fatima Rasool (14), Shahan (9), Noor (16), Kadija (11), Mohsin (7) and teacher Kausar (35) died. Also, Shazia, Shafaq, Tabaq, Shiza, Jannat, Noor Fatima, Zumbal, Iman, Maryam, Fiza, Murwa and Sobia received injuries. The Rescue-1122 team shifted the bodies and injured to DHQ Hospital. Deputy Commissioner Naila Baqer also visited the spot and ordered for an enquiry to find out the reasons behind the incident. An inquiry committee, under the supervision of AC city, will present its report in 24 hours.
