Malik takes notice of arrest of PPP workers
ISLAMABAD : Chairman Senate’s Committee on Interior Senator Rehman Malik has taken a notice of the crackdown on the workers of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and asked the Islamabad police to explain on which crime they were arrested. “The PPP workers gathered to express solidarity with their leadership on Wednesday on the occasion of spearing before the NAB, and it was the democratic right of the PPP workers. If there was any mismanagement on that day then the police are responsible for it,” he said while talking to newsmen after chairing a meeting of the Senate’s Committee on Interior on Friday.
Senator Rehman Malik said the protests were made in the past and always the police handle it as when Dharna was staged by Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI in the recent past then the administration did not allow the PTI workers to enter parliament.
He said he sought the details from the Islamabad police about the arrested workers of the PPP and also about the cases against the. “Those who crossed their limits will be accountable,” he said.
When asked about the video of Senator Mustafa Khokhar in which he was pushing the police personals, Senator Rehman Malik said he did not watch the video, but it was told to me that a male police personal was pushing the women workers of the PPP and Senator Mustafa Khokhar tried to stop him from pushing the women workers. “The PPP always respect the law and law enforcement personals,” he said.
