Scientific conference concludes
Rawalpindi : The fourth Rawalpindi Medical University International Scientific Conference concluded here on Saturday at the Old Campus of RMC that included a number of scientific sessions, pre-conference workshops and research papers under the scientific programme of the conference.
The RMU organized the conference from March 21 to March 23 while pre-conference workshops were arranged from March 18 to March 20. The core scientific sessions in the conference were held on March 21 and 22. The theme of the 4th International Scientific Conference was ‘From Excellence to Revolution in Medical Education’.
Health Minister Punjab Professor Dr. Yasmin Rashid who was the chief guest at the inaugural session of the conference expressed her pleasure on organization of 4th RMU International Scientific Conference. She said it is endeavor of the government to ensure equitable health facilities for every part of society.
She said the holding of such events will help to upgrade existing facilities and bring new knowledge to the country regarding patient management. It is indeed a noble gesture of the health community working nationally and abroad to come forward and help their countrymen, she said in her message.
RMU Vice Chancellor Professor Muhammad Umar said this was his ambition to hold such an endeavor of international standard which aimed to apprise, nurture and globalize mastery technological innovation, knowledge and research of medicine which help the young Rawalians to make an early debut on international stage. The conference would be the landmark to implement the RMU mission as a university, he said.
During the conference, well over 50 scientific papers were presented in the scientific sessions on global mental health, pathology, cardiology, surgery and allied specialties, ENT and Pharmacology, medical education, orthopaedics and neurosurgery, paediatrics and community medicine/public health.
Under the scientific program of the international conference, scientific papers were also presented by national and international experts on medicine and allied specialties, Gynaecology and Obstetrics.
