ISLAMABAD: Thousands of people, Friday attended the funeral prayers of a martyred youth in Arampora area of Baramulla district, in held Kashmir Friday.
The youth, Aamir Rasool Kaboo, was martyred along with another youth by Indian troops during a violent cordon and search operation in Kalantra area of the district, last night.
Witnesses said that thousands of people assembled at Aamir’s home in Arampora on Friday morning to take part in his last rites. His body was handed over to the family shortly before midnight, yesterday. The mourners raised full-throated pro-freedom and anti-India slogans as they marched with his body to the martyrs graveyard where he was laid to rest.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown is being observed across the Sopore town and its adjacent areas against the
killing of the youth. All shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road.
