LAHORE: On the directives of IG Motorway Police Muhammed Saleem Bhatti, N-5 Central Police have launched a special enforcement campaign against the violation of not using safety helmet while driving motorcycle.
DIG N-5 Central Mirza Faran Baig asked the officers to ensure effective enforcement against the violations of driving without safety helmet. Mobile Education Unit of N-5 Central Zone has also been asked to brief maximum motorcyclists about road safety measures and usefulness of safety helmet.
All the sector commanders have been directed to personally monitor the campaign and send day to day progress in this regard, he added. In order to make the campaign more effective and meaningful, banners containing road safety slogans have been displayed on all the important places on national highways and special road safety stalls have been set-up at all the toll plazas, he added.
DIG N-5 Central Mirza Faran Baig instructed the patrol officers to carry on briefing and enforcement of motorcyclists as a permanent feature of their duty as motorcyclists are the most careless among all types of road users and most vulnerable to any serious accident.
