Partly cloudy forecast

LAHORE: Partly cloudy weather with trace rain was observed in the city on Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

Officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. A westerly wave was still affecting upper parts of the country till last night. They predicted mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country. However rain-thunderstorm with light snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob Division and Gilgit Baltistan.

On Wednesday, rain thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills occurred at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir. Rainfall was witnessed in several cities including Faisalabad 24, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Gujrat, Sialkot, Murree, Jhelum, Mandi Bahaudin, Noorpur Thal, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Mangla, Jhang, Chakwal, Sargodha, Joharabad, Narowal, Kotli, Rawalakot, Garidupatta, Muzaffarabad, Dir, Pattan, Kalam, Malamjabba, Balakot, Parachinar, Kakul and Jacobabad while snowfall was recorded at Kalam.

Wednesday’s lowest temperature was recorded at Kalam where mercury dropped down to -05°C while in Lahore it was 14°C and maximum was 26.2°C.
