Pervaiz against use of police for politics

LALAMUSA: Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Tuesday said days of politicians were numbered who misused police department for their politics. Addressing the participants of a reconciliation committee, Ch Pervaiz said his government had taken practical steps to decrease burden on police. He said; “We tried to discourage fake cases against political opponents”, vowing to do the best for the betterment of police. Ch Pervaiz also inaugurated the DSP office in Sadr police station Gujrat. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Gujranwala Tariq Abbas Qureshi and District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Syed Ali Mohsin Shah also spoke. Lawmakers Syed Faiz-ul-Hassan Shah, Tashfeen Safdar, Mian Akhter Hayat, Shujat Nawaz Ajnala, Abdullah Yusuf, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gujrat Dr Khurram Shahzad and others were also present.
