PAKPATTAN: Three people died in three road accidents on Sunday. Ahmad Aslam was moving on a motorcycle with Ameena Bibi and Majeeda Bibi. When they reached near bridge Rakh on Depalpur Road, a speeding bus hit them, leaving Majeeda Bibi dead on the spot, and Ahmad and Ameena wounded critically.
The injured were taken to the DHQ hospital, Pakpattan. Two young motorcyclists died when a van hit them on Bahawalnagar-Arifwala Road. Two others sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital.
In the third accident, four people sustained injuries when a speeding bus collided with a rickshaw near Chak 25/EB and the rickshaw fell into a canal.
Meanwhile, electrician Zahoor Ahmad of Chak 27/KB sustained burn injuries when he was installing lights for a marriage function.
He was taken to THQ hospital, Arifwala.
GAS OUTAGES IRK LOCALS: Citizens are facing severe problems of gas outages.
The locals told reporters that it had become a routine on the part of gas authorities to disrupt gas supply to the citizens.
They urged higher authorities to look into the matter.
