The introduction of a new visa policy, in an effort to increase the number of tourists, is an act of desperation by the present government. While there is no doubt that a visa-on-arrival policy will encourage more people to visit the country, there is a risk that it may allow drug users, smugglers and secret service agents to enter the country without any hindrance.
Often, visitors disappear after arriving in a country and start living in the country illegally. Almost every other country faces this problem. With limited financial and technical resources, it will become impossible for the law-enforcement agencies to keep a track on tourists. How the government will deal with the ever-increasing threat posed by the unchecked arrivals needs to be fully explained.
