PESHAWAR: Speakers at a seminar on Saturday asked the government to establish medical and engineering universities in every tribal district besides introducing reforms in all sectors including education and health.
The Tribal Youth Movement organized the seminar titled “Post merger, Fata” at the Peshawar Press Club.
Former federal minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi is chairman of Tribal Youth Movement. Ihsanullah is president while M Shahid is general secretary of the movement.
The speakers asked the government to establish hospitals and create jobs in the tribal districts to address problems of the local people and remove their sense of deprivation.
They deplored that the successive governments did not resolve the problems of the tribespeople and did not honour the commitments with the people of underdeveloped areas.
They alleged that instead of concentrating on the solution of problems facing the people, the tribal areas were merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against the wishes of the tribespeople.
They asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to honour their commitments with tribal people and take practical steps for holding local government elections.
