Parveen Shakir Trust team meets president

Islamabad : President Arif Alvi on Wednesday urged the public and private sectors to project positive aspects of Pakistani society through literature and fine arts.
He was talking to a delegation of the Parveen Shakir Trust, which called on him here on Wednesday. The president said poets and writers were the country's asset.
"Literature is an important source of promoting peace and harmony in the society," he said.
Arif Alvi said the promotion of literature and fine arts was amongst the top priorities of the present government. He also paid tribute to poet Parveen Shakir for promoting Urdu literature.
