Responsibility of the state
In Pakistan, approximately 23 million children are out of school and about 23.4 percent of the total population lives below the poverty line. Ignoring these problems means allowing them to increase even more. It is unfortunate that no government has introduced people-friendly policies. In an attempt to increase government revenue, almost all governments have imposed heavy taxes that have affected the poor. The PTI came into power because it promised people that it will provide a solution to all their problems and create a welfare state. It is time the government focused on these internal issues. A huge percentage of our population is striving to make their ends meet. Their only concern is the survival of their children.
In our country, parents lose their children because they have no money to afford a medical treatment. We should be ashamed of living in a country where people do not have food to eat or a good place to live in. It is the responsibility of the state to take care of every individual and ensure that they have access to basic facilities.
