Cash recovered as FIA conducts 2 raids in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: As part of the crackdown against the illegal business of hundi and hawala, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted two raids in Khyber Bazaar here on Tuesday.
Akhtar Hayat Gandapur, director, FIA, KP, said that a thorough search of the shops of alleged dealers was conducted and an amount of Rs1,070,000 along with other incriminating material, connecting the accused to hundi and hawala business was recovered. The official said a case had been registered against two accused namely Shaukat Iqbal and Abdur Rehman under the FER Act and Anti-Money Laundering Act. He said that a separate inquiry had been initiated against one Abdullah, son of Zari Gul. Further investigation in the matter was underway, added the official.
