City receives scattered rain

LAHORE: Scattered rain was observed in the city on Monday while Met office predicted a partly cloudy weather with chances of rain during the next 24 hours.

Officials said a westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country, likely to weaken on Tuesday and again affect western/ upper parts of the country from Tuesday evening/ night. They predicted mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm (with light snowfalls over the hills) accompanied by gusty winds was expected in Malakand, Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rainfall was recorded at several cities including Peshawar, Malamjabba, Cherat, Dir, Saidu Sharif, Bannu, Parachinar, Mirkhani, D.I.Khan, Balakot, Besham, Kakul, Pattan, Drosh, Kalam, Multan, Kamra, Mandi Bahaudin, D.G.Khan, Islamabad, Mangla, Layyah, Bhakkar, Rawalpindi, Murree, Kot addu, Sialkot, Lahore, Jhelum, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, Gujrat, Jhang, Joharabad, Noorpur Thal, Chakwal, Shorkot, Toba Tek Singh, Kasur, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Okara, Bahawalnager, Narowal, Faisalabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Hafizabad, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Garidupatta, Kalat, Barkhan, Zhob, Quetta, Mohenjodaro, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, Sukkur, Rohri, Padidan, Gupis, Astore and Chillas while snowfall was observed at Malamjabba and Murree only.

Monday’s lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Astore where mercury dropped down to -06°C while in Lahore it was 12.8°C and maximum was 20.2°C.
