G-10/4 college students shine in co-curricular contests
Islamabad : The students of Islamabad Model Postgraduate College for Girls G-10/4 participated in a variety of co-curricular activities organised by different educational institutions and showed outstanding performances and clinched top positions.
In Qiraat competition Verses 2 to 4 of Surah Sajjdah were chosen for the recital. Habiba Tur Rehman clinched the first prize in Qiraat. Sadia Komal of the college earned the third prize in the sweet dish-making competition.
Receiving the thunderous applaud, Zaeema, and Rabia were awarded the second prize and Sadia Mukhtar third.
Shanzay Rauf stood third in "bahaar kay geet" contest.
In the English debate contest on "Technology owes childhood an apology", Zeba Khanum and Shumail Kamran claimed second and third positions respectively.
Irsa Nasir stood first in the Computer Poster competition on "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle".
Maryum Maqbool got a consolation prize for Urdu debates on "Dunnia me abb rehi nhi talwar kaargar", while Mahnoor Khalid and Maryum Maqbool got second and third positions respectively in Urdu humorous poetry recital.
Zeba Khanum of the college won first prize in English speech on anti-corruption awareness, while
Maryum Maqbool claimed second prizes in Urdu essay writing and Urdu speech contests.
Habiba Tur Rehman and Kainat achieved third prizes in Qiraat and Naat contests respectively, while Ghazal of the same college won the second position.
Bushra Sagheer and Aimen Ibrahim were awarded consolation prize in Bait Baazi.
In sports, the table tennis team of the college got the first position in annual intercollegiate tournament and volleyball team second.
Also, the college's athletic team stood first in the contest. The college also won top positions in other sports events.
A teacher said it was heartening to see the college achieve new heights of progress. She credited principal Prof Sualeha Jabeen for the purpose.
The principal praised students and teachers for doing the college proud through accomplishments in the event.
