LAHORE : Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has welcomed the players of PSL-IV matches to Pakistan and expressed good wishes to the teams taking part in the event.

He said, “We welcome from the depths of our hearts to all international players who have arrived in Pakistan.” He said the people of Pakistan were over peace and sports.

He said a secure Pakistan would win due to peaceful conduct of PSL-IV matches and the people of Pakistan would witness best cricket.

Meanwhile, the chief minister said the participation of Indian players in a match with Australia while wearing army caps was condemnable. The war craze of India has tried to malign the game of gentleman, cricket, he added. A wrong message has been conveyed to the world by wearing army caps in the playground, he said.

This is a cheap action that reflects negative approach of the Indian players. Indian players have given wrong message to the world by wearing army cap and they have to face humiliation due to this act, the CM said.

He was of the view that the game was the symbol of peace and India had violated the rules and morals of the game through the act. The International Cricket Council should take stern action against the act of India, he said.

farmers’ welfare: Usman Buzdar has said the development of the agriculture sector on the permanent basis and prosperity of farmers is the government’s mission and measures are being taken in this regard.

The CM expressed these views while talking to delegations at the Chief Minister’s Office. He said promotion of the agriculture sector on the modern lines was drastically needed and special focus was being laid on the agricultural research and development to improve the living standards of the farmers. He said the welfare of farmers was the government’s priority and the country would progress when the farmers would progress.

He said the PTI government would protect the rights of farmers at every cost. He said a long-term policy was being pursued for development of agriculture on permanent grounds and it would produce far-reaching results. He said new programme were being started to help increase yield of crops and increase income of farmers. He said approval had been granted to provide certified cotton seed to farmers that would increase the yield of cotton.

He said indiscriminate action would be taken against the manufacturers of spurious pesticides. He said special measures were being taken to increase the yield of oilseed crops. An all-out effort will be made to protect the rights of farmers, he added.

notice: Usman Buzdar has taken notice of deaths of a mother and her three daughters in Toba Tek Singh and sought a report from the Faisalabad regional police officer.
