QWP leader flays PTI govt for ‘poor governance’
PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) leader and former senior minister Sikandar Sherpao has criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for failing to serve the people. The QWP leader was talking to the leaders of Ulasi Tehreek here on Friday, said a press release.
QWP leaders Mohammad Jamil Advocate, Asad Afridi Advocate, Tariq Ahmad Khan and Dr Alam Yousafzai were also present on the occasion.
Dr Said Alam Mehsud, Dr Mushtaq, Rahim Shah and Syed Majid Khan were also in attendance. The meeting was held as part of the QWP's efforts to forge unity among the Pakhtuns and strive for the resolution of their problems. Sikandar Sherpao said the PTI rulers had promised to mitigate the sufferings of the people, but it had failed to do so keeping in view its performance so far.
The QWP leader said the slogan of change was a ploy to reach the corridors of power. He said the PTI government lacked the vision to steer the country out of the prevailing mess. Turning to the issues of the Pakhtuns, he underscored the need for making strenuous efforts to address the challenges being faced by the Pakhtuns. Sikandar Sherpao said that his party was striving to unite the Pakhtuns.
"All the Pakhtun nationalist forces should forge unity in the prevailing situation," he stressed. He said the QWP had always strived for forging unity among the Pakhtuns and it would contiue to do so in the future as well. Sikandar Sherpao said that the problems faced by the Pakhtuns could not be solved unless they were united and set aside petty differences.
