LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar has said that efforts to plead Pakistan's case before EU and British MPs regarding Indian aggression started yielding positive results.
According to a handout issued Thursday, more than 28 members of British Parliament presented early day motion against Indian aggression and in favour of peace in British Parliament.
Acknowledging the efforts of Punjab Governor for peace between India and Pakistan, motion said, nuclear war between two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan, will be disastrous for whole region. Motion demanded to resolve the Kashmir issue by bilateral and multilateral dialogue. Members of British Parliament also informed the governor about the motion.
Moreover, the governor wrote a letter on Sunday to all parliamentarians of British and European Parliaments about Indian aggression and urged them to play their role in peace between India and Pakistan. Pakistan has gained huge victory on diplomatic front. Members of British Parliament, belonging to all major political parties, including Labour, Democratic Unionist, Scottish National, Liberal Democrat, and Conservative party, presented early day motion in Britain Parliament. Rashid Faisal, Yasin Muhammad, Khalid Mahmood, Jim Shannon, Ruth Cadbury, Dr David Drew, Chris Stephens, Mr Dennis Skinner, Tonnia Antionazzi, Gill Farnis, and 28 other members of British Parliament presented early day motion by acknowledging peace efforts of Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar. Members of British Parliament also informed Punjab Governor about huge diplomatic success of Pakistan and paid tribute to him owing to his personal efforts in fostering peace in region. Chaudhry Sarwar said that British Parliament members had assured him that they would play their role in peace in future as well. They applauded the stance of Prime Minister Imran Khan on peace in region.
