Asad Qaisar offers Lok Saba speaker talks for resolution of issues

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar offered a dialogue to Speaker Lok Sabha of India through Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) for peaceful resolution of the issues.

“The Speaker Lok Sabha was offered through Parliamentary Friendship Group for peaceful resolution of the issues,” he expressed these views while addressing the reception hosted in honour of conveners of Parliamentary Friendship Groups and Diplomatic Community in the Parliament House on Thursday in which Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi was also present.

The reception was attended by a large number of conveners of Parliamentary Friendship Groups, Parliamentarians and diplomatic community. The Speaker National Assembly also mentioned that Prime Minister Imran Khan has made sincere efforts for regional peace and in his first speech to the nation he offered dialogue with India to resolve all contentious issue.

He expressed his resolve that Pakistan is committed to peace and stability in the region as it was manifestly expressed by Pakistani government during recent escalation with India.

The Speaker said that India is committed to bringing chaos and instability by his aggression in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) and on the Line of Control (LOC) while Pakistan has been committed for bringing peace and stability in the region.

He also mentioned that at each step of Pakistani government showed its resolve for peace while India still is prone to aggression and war mongering. He said that Parliament of Pakistan has adopted National Action Plan to counter the threat of terrorism and extremism. He also expressed his views that at present Pakistan need support of international community to strengthen peace and cooperation in the world.

Asad Qaiser said that without resolving Kashmir issue it would not be possible to sustain peace in the region. While appreciating the bravery of Pakistan Armed Forces, the Speaker said that our Armed Forces are fully prepared to face any adventure. “However, National leadership has shown rectitude and restraint. The Joint Sitting of the Parliament also adopted a joint resolution which reflects the unity in Nations,” he said.

He said that the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in the present globalised world is in an undeniable fact and Parliament in Pakistan is making all efforts to bring all parliaments on one platform to eliminate the issues of poverty, illiteracy and discrimination faced by the world as parliaments are representative voice of the people.

The speaker said that he has formulated 93 Parliamentary Friendship Groups to make parliamentary diplomacy proactive and for enhancing cooperation in the field of trade and exchanging human capital as well as intellectual sharing.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Parliamentary Friendship groups provide a perfect platform for parliamentarians to enhance inter parliamentary diplomacy to solve all issue faced by the world. He also said that this parliamentary friendship groups also give an opportunity to parliamentarians to think out of the box to bring people centered diplomacy.
