CM approves new uniform for police

LAHORE : Each and every constable of Punjab Police stand united with Pakistan armed forces to volunteer his services for any cooperation keeping in view the current situation of country.

Under the leadership of the Punjab government, Punjab Police will work day and night for minimising crime and improving law and order. Essential steps are being taken with the help of modern technology to provide maximum services to public and citizens related with police whereas SHOs are being monitored in police stations by cameras.

These views were expressed by Inspector General Police Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi while briefing Chief Minister Usman Buzdar regarding detailed law and order across the province during his visit to Central Police Office Tuesday. Other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister inaugurated a new application (App) for providing all services in Police Khidmat Marakiz. The main objective of this App is to facilitate people and resolve their issues at their doorstep and keep people updated about the progress of the steps taken for resolution of their problems.

Usman Buzdar visited IGP Complaint Cell and Monitoring Cell. The IG Punjab briefed the chief minister about modus operandi of these cells and about their positive progress whereas the chief minister was also told about revamping of Punjab Highway Patrolling Police.

During his visit, the chief minister was shown different samples of new police uniform. The chief minister approved change of uniform from start of new financial year. Among different samples of uniform, navy blue pants and light blue shirt was approved.

Moreover, the chief minister was briefed about reforms in Punjab Police and other initiatives taken for training courses in committee room at Central Police Office. On this occasion, the chief minister was told that according to his directions regarding training courses, a special attention was being given for improving behaviour of police and it had been included in training courses. In the end, the IG Punjab presented a traditional shield to the chief minister.

Pak Navy: Usman Buzdar has paid rich tributes to Pakistan Navy for tracing out the Indian submarine. He said that Pakistan Navy has proved its mettle by tracing the enemy submarine and foiling the nefarious designs of the Indian navy. This shows the high capability and skills of Pakistan Navy which has the complete capability to deal with any navel aggression. Pakistan Navy is ever ready to defend the navel frontiers and the nation is fully proud of the professional competence and skills of Pakistan Navy, the chief minister concluded.
