LAHORE
Shab-e-Baraat, the 15th of Sha’aban, also known as the night of blessings and glory was observed on Tuesday night with traditional religious zeal and solemnity.
The faithful in large numbers took to the especially decorated mosques to offer special prayers during the whole night, wherein judgments regarding deliverance, lives, deaths, bestowments and blessings for the next year are made in the heaven. In addition to that, judgments for awarding blessings and (Rizq) to the believers are also made and prayers of the believers are answered.
The mosques were specially illuminated. Special arrangements were made in the mosques to facilitate the worshippers by providing them food, drinks and air conditioning etc.
The number of police guards was increased around the mosques as part of special security measures by the government to maintain safety of the worshippers inside the mosques. They prayed for prosperity and security of the country and entire Muslim Ummah.
Special nawafil and Shabina were also offered by the people to seek blessings of Allah Almighty and forgiveness for their sins. Besides, the faithful visited graveyards in large numbers to pray for the departed souls of their near and dear ones.
Special sweet dishes like Halwa, Zarda etc were prepared and distributed among the relatives and neighbours apart from the poor, orphans and the destitute. However, the excessive display of fireworks and fire crackers caused nuisance for the worshippers which cursed such un-Islamic practices demanding complete ban on them.
They said the fireworks also caused loss of lives and properties apart from being un-Islamic and dangerous activity.
People condemned the government for not controlling the illegal manufacture and display of fireworks despite that the authorities announced complete ban on its manufacture and display.
