Islamabad: The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) and the International Islamic University (IIU) Thursday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which PBM will award Rs10 million to deserving students, thereby enabling them to continue their education in IIU.
The Managing Director of PBM Aon Abbas Buppi attended the signing ceremony as chief guest, with the President of IIU Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Ahmed Al Draiweesh was present. Under the MoU, the University will also detail a team comprising its proficient PhD. scholars who will provide voluntary services to PBM in areas such as evaluation of projects.
Addressing the event, Aon reaffirmed the government's commitment to accommodate the downtrodden segments of the society with a note that "delivering all the basic needs of life like education, health and employment to the deprived and backward people of the country, at their doorsteps, is the first priority of the present government." He also admired the remarkable services of the President of IIU in the education sector.
Dr. Ahmed Yousif applauded the services of PBM for enabling the deserving students to continue their education. He also presented a memento to the Managing Director of PBM.
