PTI should stop backdoor diplomacy: Khursheed Shah
SUKKUR: PPP’s senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah on Sunday advised the PTI government to change its backdoor diplomacy policy because the people have the right to know what is going on in the country as the PPP had never done anything covertly.
While talking to media persons, the PPP’s senior leader said the entire nation as well as the political parties are on the same page against the Indian aggression and ready to retaliate to any attempt to violate the national frontiers. He categorically said Pakistan is not involved in the Pulwama attack and neither has any such policy to interfere others’ issues despite the moral support to the Kashmiris fighting for their right to self-determination.
Khursheed Shah said the country needs foreign investment to stabilise the national economy, especially the rural economy adding that the visit of the Saudi crown prince was good for Pakistan. He said Iran is our neighbour and Pakistan’s policy towards Iran should be favourable.
The former leader of the opposition in the National Assembly said the NAB brought Aleem Khan to the court in a bulletproof vehicle while Siraj Durrani, who was arrested for accumulation of assets beyond known sources of income, in an ordinary vehicle. He said the double standards of authorities could not be accepted while the attitude of the NAB officials towards the family of Durrani was impolite.
Khursheed Shah said the government could not exploit his party leadership in the name of accountability. He demanded that accountability should be carried out across-the-board and selected one would not be accepted. The PPP leader said the national institutions should act according to the Constitution and stop being pressurised by the authorities or government officials.
Syed Khursheed Shah earlier inaugurated the flowers exhibition at the IBA University Sukkur Campus and later emphasised on plantation of trees to eliminate pollution. The VC IBA University, Nisar Siddiqui, and others also addressed on the occasion.
