The rupee continued to march upward in the interbank market on Friday on dollar selling by banks, dealers said. It ended at 138.54 against the dollar, compared with the previous closing of 138.62. In the open market, the rupee traded flat at 139 against the greenback. Dealers said the currency posted mild gains, as banks and some exporters sold dollars. Moreover, the demand for the greenback remained lower in the market, they added.
